NYC Get2Gether Mini Album

It’s finally done! My latest project is a paper bag mini album using the “stack the deck” binding method. I used the medium Celebrations paperbags and the Chevron paper pack from Recollections to create the album.

I learned the "stack the deck" binding method while watching You Tube tutorials from "Follow the Paper Trail" and "scrapdaworld". Among the many techniques I've seen and tried, this technique is by far the easiest to follow, and it uses less glue than others while giving the mini album a really neat finished look.

The cover: I used Cindyloo and Plantin Schoolbook for the titles.

"Stack the Deck" binding method

I used the cityscape from Plantin Schoolbook
to emphasize the event's location (NYC).

100_1982 (800x533)
I used Plantin Schoolbook to put the event's date on the last page.

100_1983 (800x533)
Super neat spine!

100_1984 (800x533)
You can see the binding from here. It gives enough room for the pages
to be flipped back and forth and also to expand for embellishments.

To keep it simple, I used just one MS punch to decorate the corners
of my tags.

100_1986 (800x533)
Small tags for small pockets.

100_1987 (800x533)
Large tags insert into the paperbags.

100_1988 (800x533)
I did not care to use any tabs for the tags since it's easy to pull
them out anyway, as long as there's a pull out space such as
the half circle in the photo.

Again, super neat binding and covers! : )

100_1991 (533x800)
Love this pattern. : )

The mini from the back. I think this is the cleanest I've created so far.

So there you go...my latest mini album. I did not have a purpose for this mini in the beginning. Like I mentioned in my last post, I was making it to try the binding method and I loved the papers. Then last Sunday I met up with my college friends whom I haven't seen for forever. The mini-reunion took place in Manhattan. Naturally, the cameras just kep clicking away. As I was finishing the mini, I figured, what better way to use it than fill it up with photos from our get together?! The size was perfect for the amount of photos I wanted to show-off : ). I did not add journaling because the title, the first page, the photos, and the date in the last page are enough to tell the story.

     'Hope you liked it!

Happy Sunday,
HANNAH
